Despite Advisor nod, DSEJ sits on transfer of hundreds of teachers in district Kathua

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 9: Despite getting nod from the Advisor to Governor, the Directorate of School Education (DSEJ) is seems to be adamant to transfer of hundreds of teachers who have been posted in respective places for more than three years.
Well placed sources informed that the incumbent Chief Education Officer (CEO), Kathua made a list of nearly 700 teachers who have been overstayed and posted in district Kathua's far flung and hilly areas by constituting a committee of three Principals of Higher Secondary Schools - namely Rakesh Jasrotia, Principal of HSS Barwal, Sunil Kumar Principal of HSS Marheen and Rakesh Kumar Sharma Principal of HSS Kethara. The same list was forward to Advisor as well as DSEJ for getting approval.
"However, now the list has got approval from the Advisor but DSEJ seems adamant to transfer teachers of district Kathua. Recently, the Chief Education Officer Jammu has made transfer of 600 teachers and after that teachers have made hue and cry and alleged that case of nepotism and corruption in teachers' transfer. Thereafter the DSEJ kept the order in abeyance", said sources.
It is pertinent to mention here that in month of December 2018, the then Chief Education Officer Kathua-Bishan Singh had framed a committee for looking after overstay of teachers wherein four member committee was frame to look into transfer of teachers by ignoring then Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs), but the committee recommendation have yield nothing so far as the overstayed teachers yet to get transfer.
The Committee was framed under the supervision of Deputy CEO, Prem Singh, Principal HSS Bani Ashok Kumar, Principal HSS Barwal Rakesh Jasrotia and Principal HSS Kathara Rakesh Kumar Sharma.
The CEO Kathua time and again framed committees regarding transfer of teachers have yield nothing and proved merely as eyewash, said teachers who has been posted in Bhaddu zone.
"Due to inordinate delay in transfer of teachers, the overstayed teachers in city limits are happy and enjoying choicest posting because they have been posted at reachable distance from their houses but those who were posted at far flung areas are deprived to get new posting due to nonchalant attitude of education authority", said a teachers while wishing anonymity.
