Police solve theft case; gold, silver ornaments worth Rs 3.5 lakhs recovered

Kathua, Sept 10: Police claimed to have solved theft case, which took place four days back in the ward no 13 Kathua, and arrested a thief and stolen property worth Rs 3.5 Lakhs recovered by Police Post, Hatli Kathua.
According to police sources, a theft case took place on September 6, 2019 in the house of Mahinder Lal son of Dharam Chand resident of the ward no 13 Kathua and victim of the incident filed a written complaint to the Police Post-Hatli and given details about stolen things from his house.
Acting on the complaint, police registered a case FIR no 288/2019 under section 380 RPC and started an investigation. During the course of investigation and based on gathered information, a team of Police led by SI Vishal Incharge Police Post Hatli under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Nikhil Rasgotra arrested one thief namely Lalit Kumar alias Mannu son of Hans Raj resident of Ward no.13 kathua.
On thief disclosure, police recovered gold Chain, 3 gold Rings, 1 gold Mangalsutra, 2 gold Bangles, 2 silver Payal set, 1 child silver bangles and 2 silver rings worth of Rs 3.5 lakhs. Further investigation into the case is going on.
DySP Headquarters Kathua Nikhil Rasgotra told that the complaint has registered on September 9 and very next day (Sep 7) the Thief was arrested by Police.
The recovery has been done on Tuesday on his disclosure.
Besides, he also told that two or three more persons were detained on suspicious activity and there is a chance of their involvement in other theft cases and they are being questioned in this regards.
