International Show by JKCCA opens at Amritsar

Jammu, Sept 10: 5th International Art Exhibition organized by Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu in collaboration with K T Kala, Amritsar and KGN Art and amp; Cultural Society, Amritsar was inaugurated by Ramesh Arora MLC (Jammu and Kashmir) at K T Kala, Amritsar. Madam Luxmi Kanta Chawla, Ex Cabinet Minister, Punjab was the Guest of Honour and Swaroop Dar, President KT Kala, Rajesh Raina, Secretary, KT Kala Amritsar were the special guests on this occasion. Prominent figures Atul Gupta, Chanan Singh Manar,from Jammu and S. Kulwant Singh Gill, Miss Rekha Mahajan, Shri Rohit Caul from Delhi were present along with a large number of artists, sculptors and intellectuals. The art pieces of 33 artists from the states of Jammu &Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, New Delhi, Uttra Khand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajsthan, Gujrat , Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra have been displayed in the show.
Speaking on this occasion, Ramesh Arora appreciated the art works of different artists and the organizers for putting up a nice show. He said that such events bring communities closer to share their views and aesthetical experiences. He wished that more such events would be organized by JKCCA and others in future also.
Prof. Laxmi Kanta Chawla and Shri Rajesh Raina also expressed their views on this occasion.
Earlier O P Sharma, Director JKCCA welcomed the guests and briefed about the achievements of the JKCCA in the recent years and about the future events of the JKCCA during the current financial year. According to O P Sharma, Director, JKCCA the art works of senior artists from J& K state viz. Jang S. Verman, Aslam Naqishbandi, O P Sharma, Kamalnain Bhan, Subash Anand and Mohd. Akram Khan have been displayed in the show whereas the young artists of the state who are participating in this show are Shivani Koul Bhat, Deepa Soni and Sunita Gandhi. Artists from other states include Dr. Mamta Singh (Uttra Khand), V S Rahi (New Delhi), Kusum Chouhan (Haryana), Dr. Nathu Lal Verma (Rajsthan), Kanu Patel (Gujrat), Ramesh Bhasale (Maharashtra), Pratima Singh, Dr. Disha Dinesh, Dr. Rekha Rani Sharma UP (Uttar Pradesh), Prerana Mitra (Madhya Pradesh), Minu Dey (West Bengal), K S Gill, Iqbal Singh, Dharminder Sharma, Priyanka Sharma.
Mala Chawla, Ravinder Dhillon, Atul Mattu and Kavi Chouhan (Punjab) and Shantlala Madhu from Karnataka.
He added that the present show is a step forward to carry forward the activities and programmes of JKCCA. The present show has been able to project the composite styles, techniques and trends taking place in various parts of the country and around the globe.
