3 stone crushers fined for illegal storage, consumption of raw material | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Sept 11: District Mining Department has imposed fine to the tune of approximate Rs 3 crore on three stone crushers for illegal storage and consumption of raw/furnished material thereby depriving revenue to state exchequer. The three stone crusher units were earlier inspected by a team comprising of officials/officers of Flood Control, PWD, Revenue, Forest, Rural Development department and Geology and Mining Departments constituted by the Deputy Commissioner. During inspection, it was found that these stone crushers have illegally stored/dumped huge quantity of minor minerals in the premises of their units in sheer violation of the J&K Minor Mineral Concession Storage, Transportation of Minerals, Prevention of Illegal Mining Rules, Provisions of SRO 105 and SRO 302. Accordingly, notices were served to them and fine was imposed on M/s Om Sai Screener amounting to Rs 3474350, similarly Rs 25921187 as fine was imposed on M/s Jai Rajputana Screener and Rs 559455 penalty was imposed on M/s New Jai Rajputana Stone Crusher all located at village Taraf Tajwal of Kathua. These units are directed to deposit the fine at the office of District Mineral Office within 7 days from the date of issue of the notices failing which strict action under rules shall be initiated against them. |
