JAMMU, Sept 12: In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Civil Society Tral regarding road widening, A Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Rashid Ali Dar directed Executive Engine-er, PHE Department, Awantipora to forthwith examine the matter and ensure that the water pipes which are coming in the way of completion of the road from Tral to Satoora are forthwith shifted. In any case, the same shall be shifted within six weeks. The road shall be completed within four weeks thereafter.
This significant direction has been passed by Division Bench while hearing Mohammad Yousuf, Executive Engineer, R&B, who informs this Court that the construction of the road from Tral to Satoora is underway and now only macadamized. He further submits that the PHE Department is also required to shift certain water pipes. If they do the work, the road shall be completed within one month thereafter. |
