Advisor Sharma reviews dev expenditure of R&B, PDD, Housing, PHE Deptt

SRINAGAR, Sept 12: With a view to speed up the developmental initiatives being undertaken in different sectors, Advisor to Governor KK Sharma today reviewed the quantum of expenditure being incurred by different departments and agencies on various developmental initiatives and schemes.
The expenditure status reviewed included the departments of PDD, PHE, R&B and Housing and Urban development.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Engineers of R&B, PMGSY, PDD, UED, besides Directors of Finance and Planning.
While reviewing the pace of implementation of the flagship programmes of the departments, the Advisor directed for ensuring time-bound completion besides the full utilization of the funds earmarked for different sectors. He said that the same is necessary for ensuring that the holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir is undertaken and people get benefitted from these initiatives.
The Advisor also directed undertaking regular meetings in order to speed up the implementation by removing impediments and bottlenecks, if any, so that the developmental schemes being undertaken under different sectors and centrally sponsored schemes are closed within the stipulated time avoiding the cost escalation and related things.
"The officers should ensure that the schemes are completed and the funds allocated for a particular activity or initiatives are utilized to the maximum," he said and maintained that the line departments should also work in a coordinated manner while carrying on developmental works.
The meeting was told that under the released outlay in Housing and Urban Development 30% has been expended similarly PDD has also incurred an expenditure of 33%.
It was also given out that the roads and building sector has also incurred an expenditure of about 44% against the released outlay. Similarly, PHE has also recorded an expenditure of 34%.
