Deputation calls on DC Jammu

Jammu, Sept 12: A deputation from Ajit Colony (Welfare Committee) and adjoining localities of Aman Vihar, Gobind Nagar, Himmat Colony and Bank Colony (Wad No. 32) called upon Dupty Commissioner Jammu. The deputation was headed by chairman Ajit Colony Welfare Committee S. Harcharan Singh appraised Deputy Commissioner about the problems being faced by the residents of these colonies because of animals owned by occupant of Gujjar Basti Gol Gujral set up at encroached JDA land. Horses and buffallows owned by these people remain roaming in the fields of locals thus damaging standing crops. These animals can be seen in main roads, lanes and well with in the built up areas of these localities spreading dung and dirt every where besides inflicting huge loss to the local farmers and causing traffic jams. Most of farmers have abandoned cultivating land for fear of huge loss caused. These people have been asked time and against not to bring their cattle in built up area but in vain. Dy. Commissioner heard the deputation patiently and assured to redress the grievances at an earliest. Prominent among deputationest include Dr. Arun Jandial (Gen. Sec.) B.L. Koul (Presient) S. Amrik Singh, Vikas Sharma, S. Gurcharan Singh, Surjit Singh, Ashok Kumar, S. Surinder Singh and others.
