JKPCC raises issues of OBC people | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 13: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today raised the issues of Other Backward Classes (OBC) and also expressed concern over continuous imprisonment of Congress leaders. According to press release, a meeting was held in Gandhi Nagar, which was president over by Chairman Pradesh Congress Committee Adv. Suresh Kumar Dogra. He said, "In recent news in different Papers showed Jeet Lal Gupta Chairman State Commission for backward classes met with Governor of J&K Satya Pal Malik and discussed about the issues and plans for the backward areas which were left by the earlier administration but the fate of the peoples of backward classes under UT status was neither mentioned nor discussed. Dogra said we had many times sought permission to meet with Governor of J&K but every time no reply was given and the subject of peoples of other backward classes remained silent. It was also discussed in the meeting that the congress party within J&K is snubbed by Central government because it has been seen that only the Bhartiya Janta party is enjoying the power and permitted to organize their programs i.e. Mass communication, Public programs and booth level elections and in the adverse of that J&k congress party as well as all regional and national parties are not allowed to organize their mass programs. Adv. Dogra further said their mainstream leaders including State president JKPCC Ghulam Ahmed Mir and Vice President Raman Bhalla are still in under house arrest which is totally violation of fundamental rights. Adv. Dogra warned the government on both the aspects to clear the status of OBCs peoples of J&K as well as the freedom of party and leaders of the party and if fails the government shall be responsible for the protest demonstrations. |
