SBI provides Cardiac Care Ambulance to Army Hospital

Leh, Sept 14: The SBI authorities today provided one Cardiac and Critical Care Ambulance under CSR project to 153 GH.
According to sources, the 153 GH apex service hospital providing medical cover to soldiers of Fire and Fury Corps posted at High Altitude Area and also a significant population of veterans (Ex-Servicemen), Veer Naris and civilians including tourists who are being provided medical assistance at this hospital.
"Low oxygen pressures and extreme cold conditions lead to increased risk of High Altitude Diseases including High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE), High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE), Cerebral Venous Thrombosis (CVT), Mesenteric Venous Thrombosis (MVT), Frost Bites and cardiac diseases such as heart attacks and heart failure, requiring immediate evacuation of these patients to hospital providing definitive care", sources said, adding that positioning of a Cardiac and Critical Care Ambulance at 153 General Hospital, Leh would save valuable time as medical intervention can be undertaken early within the veh by trained staff, thereby saving the precious lives.
The ambulance was handed over by Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, State Bank of India to Lt Gen YK Joshi, GOC Fire & Fury Corps for its utilization by 153 GH.
