Jammu, Sept 14: Continue their campaign for the demand of holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh birthday, Yuva Rajput Sabha held a series of meeting at Nagbani, Nagrota and Kot. The meeting was chaired by Surinder Singh Gill, President Yuva Rajput Sabha. Gilli demanded the declaration of Gazetted Holiday on the birth anniversary of last Dogra ruler of Jammu and Kashmir, Maharaja Hari Singh. During the meeting, Gill discussed the celebrations on the occasion of birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji which falls on Sept 23. He expressed resentment against the State Government for not declaring gazetted holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh. Gill said that Sabha wondered if former chief minister Sheikh Abdullah's birthday could be observed as a state holiday, why could Maharaja Hari Singh's birth anniversary, which falls on September 13, not be observed. Others who were present in the meeting included Mukesh Singh, Rajveer Singh Jamwal, Ragubir Singh, Kaka Singh Mandeep Singh, Kaka Singh, Vikram Singh besides others. |
