Forest Department evicts encroached land

Jammu, Sept 14: Forest Department evicted encroached land and fenced the area in Raika village of Forest Range Bahu.
According to spokesman the encroached forest land in village Raika which was evicted from the clutches of encroachers has now been fenced during past one week.
"A team of Forest department led by Range Officer Bahu Mohd Nayeem alongwith Block Officer Bahu Anwar Mohd, I/c Block Officer Bajalta Rakesh Dubey, I/c Block Officer Chowadi Diwakar Singh with the assistance of Police team headed by SDPO East Rajinder Singh Rahi and SHO Bagh-e-Bahu Sunil Sharma evicted encroached forest's land. The whole operation was supervised by DFO Jammu Alok Kumar Maurya", he added.
He said that earlier in this area some miscreants had attacked the joint team of Forest, Police and Revenue teams in which forest and Police personnel were injured and vehicles of Forest Department and Duty Magistrate were also damaged but the Forest Department had successfully freed the encroached area by demolishing the concrete structures. "Keeping in view of this area being prone to encroachment the same was approved for plantation by CCF Jammu Sameer Bharti, and CF East Circle Jammu Samuel Changkija. Accordingly, with the assistance of police force which was supervised by SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh, and Forest Protection Force headed by Dy. Director, FPF Jugal Kishore the situation was controlled", he added.
Further, upon the request of forest Department Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sushma Chouhan had also deputed Duty Magistrate to tackle law and order situation. DFO Jammu added that SDM South Srikant Balasahib Suse, Tehsildar Bahu Imran Naik, Naib Tehsildar Iqbal Zargar provided full cooperation during the fencing work. Fencing was completed and approximately 700 Kanal of forest land worth in Crore falling in Compartment No.66/Raika of Raika Beat of Bahu Forest Block falling in village Raika was saved from any further encroachment.
