Market checking should be intensified on daily basis: Div Com to DCs

Srinagar, Sept 14: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today directed all Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir Division to intensify market checking in their respective districts on daily basis and take strict action against the profiteers and hoarders as per relevant section of law.
He made these directions while reviewing the stock position of essential commodities like rice, wheat, LPG, Kerosene oil, Petrol, Diesel, fire wood and other items for winter months in the valley.
The Divisional Commissioner ascertained the actual stock position and feed back of essential commodities and supplies, from the Deputy Commissioners, concerned departments and LPG agencies. The representative of Hindustan Petroleum, Bharat Petroleum and IOCL informed that presently they have sufficient availability of LPG, K.Oil, Motor Sprit, High Speed Diesel etc and the process of dumping of stocks shall be made in coming days as per the consumption need.
The Divisional Commissioner issued necessary instructions to the concerned to speedup supply and start dumping at the snow bound areas of Kashmir Valley.
He stressed upon the officers to top-up the maximum stock capacity of all the essential commodities and supplies for the winter months so that its dearth shall not be felt.
All the concerned departments shall adhere to the directions passed and coordinate themselves so that general public shall not suffer.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah, Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Director FCS&CA, GM JKSRTC, Deputy Director FCS& CA, Representatives of different Oil Companies and other concerned officers were present in the meeting where as other Deputy Commissioners participated the meeting through video conferencing.
