Shamsher Hakla expresses concern over problems being faced by Gujjar & Bakerwals

Poonch, Sept 14: Shamsher Hakla Poonchi, the prominent Muslim Gujjar leader and an intellectual of J&K said that the large number of Gujjars & Bakarwals who have presently migrated to Dhoks in hilly, mountainous areas of Kashmir valley for inhabitation along with their families and cattles for the current summer period are facing trouble due to shortage of food supplies, medical facilities because of present unrest situation in Kashmir valley for the last 40 days.
He appealed to the Governor of J&K Satyapal Malik to take some concrete steps inorder to make available the food supplies and medical facilities for the Gujjars Bakarwals who are presently inhabiting in Dhoks in hilly, mountainous areas of Kashmir valley. He said that because of continuous firing by Pakistan Army along the LoC of Indo-Pak which are inhabited by Gujjars & Bakarwals of J&K, the Gujjars & Bakarwals have been affected a lot which resulted in the loss of their lives, cattle, Houses etc. He appealed to the Govt. Of India to sanction large number of individual bunkers for each & every family of Gujjar Bakarwal community of J&K who are inhabited along the LoC of Indo-Pak in order to save their lives, cattles & houses.
