DC reviews traffic scenario in Udhampur city

UDHAMPUR, Sept 14 District Development Commissioner Dr. Piyush Singla today conducted tour of the Udhampur city and assessed the traffic scenario.
President Municipal Council and team of district officers accompanied the DDC during the tour of city.
They discussed the strategy to improve the traffic movement, earmark bus stops and passenger sheds and beautification of the Town.
The DDC asked Municipality Department to widen the road at Omara Morh and explore the possibility of Rotary Chowk with aesthetic look. He further directed for construction of view point at Omara by pass road, maintenance of park near forest office, clearance of road blocks and construction of passenger shed near Venus Chowk.
The DDC also inspected the garbage dumping site and directed to level and fence the site properly.
He also inspected the proposed site for parking near Gole market and directed revenue authorities to prepare the documents for the same.
The team interacted with Rehari and Farhi walas and advised them to come forward and participate in drive against the use of polythene bags. They also appealed to general public to participate in drive against plastic use.
A large number of people also met DDC and projected demands of their areas. He assured to meet all genuine demands on priority.
