J&K Housing Board organises orientation programme on 'Angikaar'

JAMMU, Sept 14: Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board- the State Level nodal agency for implementation of Prdhan Mantri Awas Yojna(PMAY) today organised one-day orientation Programme on 'Angikaar' and PMAY(U) to sensitize the stakeholders for effective implementation of the programme.
The Programme was inaugurated by Managing Director, JK Housing Board Tassaduq Jeelani. Resource Persons- Regional Coordinator Khatibullah Sheikh and Sunil Pareek from Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs delivered key lecture on the main features of the programme. The Programme was attended by Chief Executive Officers/ Executive Officers of all Municipal Committees/ Deputy General Managers/Sr. Programmer of JK Housing Board/ State Level Experts/City Level Experts under PMAY.
In his address, the Managing Director, JK Housing Board listed the achievements under PMAY(U) and steps being taken for the implementation of the Scheme. He further briefed on the 'Angikaar'- Campaign launched on August 29, 2019 which envisages mobilization of Pradhan Mantri Awas YojanaUrban for a 'Social Behaviour Change Management.' He said that through this campaign PMAY Mission aims to converge with other schemes such as Swachh Bharat Mission, Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala and other vital schemes aiming at ensuring better life for the people. He further said that the synergised efforts are being put in to ensure benefits of the scheme reach the target groups and sought active participation of all the stakeholders for achieving optimal results. He informed that the eligible persons can also approach to the Housing Board/Municipal Committees for taking the benefits of this scheme.
