International Literacy Week celebrated

Jammu, Sept 14: As a part of international literacy week, NSS unit today organized Lecture series for the awareness of NSS volunteers of the college in which Ahmad Shah, Director Colleges, Higher Education Department was the special invitee. The programme started the lecture by Advocate Dewakar Sharma, trustier founder BLESS, in which he awared the students about Human Rights and ill effects of plastic in the society. After this Advocate Deepak Sharma enlightened the students about how to file RTI and how they can bring social reforms through RTI. Another resource person Kiran Kumar Sharma , Chairman, International Volunteer Foundation and Social worker, encouraged the students about use of education to bring social reforms and inculcate the habit of helping others. Director colleges also interacted with NSS volunteers and encouraged them to deliver their services to the society selflessly. Principal of the college Dr. Koushal Samotra in her address appreciated the efforts of NSS unit for conducting such awareness programmes for the upliftment of the youth of the college. The programme was coordinated by NSS Programme officers Dr. Sarabjeet Kaur Reen and Dr. Narinder Sharma.
