Superintendent of Police Headquarter Farooq Qaiser Malik told that first case was registered in NDPS Act against deceased in Police Station Nawabad in the year 2016 and second case was registered in Miran Sahib Police Station in NDPS Act in 2019.
He also told that post-mortem was conducted under the supervision of SDM Satish Sharma and senior officer of the Police Department and the body was later handed over to the family for his last rites.
It is in place to mention here that the 32-year old Ikhlaq Ahmad Khan, who was residing in Janipur area, was a suspected drug peddler and arrested by a team of Miran Sahib Police Station on last Saturday. As per police statement, he complained of uneasiness and started shivering while he was being taken to the Concerned Police Station for questioning.
As his condition got deteriorated, police personnel shifted him to GMC&H Jammu where doctors declared him brought dead. Following the suspicious death of Ikhlaq, the family members as well as relatives held a protest and demanded an inquiry into the case to ascertain the real reasons behind his death.
