JAMMU, Sept 15: In what could be a daredevil act and efforts of Personal Security Officer (PSO), the life of PDP leader, his family members including toddlers were saved after the militants, who barged into the house of PDP District President Advocate Sheikh Nasir Hussain and held them hostage for nearly 12 hours-tied their hands and legs with ropes-covered their mouth with clothes before escaping from the spot.
As per the details available with the "Early Times", it was due to efforts of the PSO Mubashir Hussain son of Shams Din of Bunastan, Kishtwar, the lives of around one dozen people including minor children were saved.
The sources told the "Early Times" that like PDP District President Sheikh Nasir Hussain and his family members, the militants also tied him in the similar as the other persons held hostage inside the different rooms of two story building.
The sources said that the militants tied PSO Mubashir twice as at first instance the 3rd unidentified member among the three militants that entered the house of PDP leader felt that he has not been firmly tied by them.
The sources said that the militants tied the hands of the PSO at its back and simultaneously tied them with his feet beside cover his mouth with a piece of cloth and adhesive. Among the three militants two were identified as Osama Bin Javed and Zahid Hussain Sagar while the identity of the 3rd militant is yet to be ascertained.
The sources said that after they tied the PSO, the locked the room from outside before escaping from the spot.
The sources said that PSO Mubashir after wrangling down and out managed to remove the ropes possibly with the help of a knife that was kept by PDP leader in his room.
The sources said that the PSO after removing the ropes bolted the door from inside the room so that the militants present in the house could not enter inside as he was unaware about the development following locking him inside the room by the militants.
The sources said that he later opened the window on the back side of the room situated on the 1st floor of the room and jumped from the height of around 10 feet and after that he crossed another 6 feet boundary wall of the house and run for a distance of around 2 kms to inform the police about the incident.
As soon as police came to know about the development, they immediately rush to the spot and rescued the PDP leader and his family member.
The PSO during all this suffered injuries in his hands, legs and other parts of the body and was later taken to the hospital by the police and is presently recovering from his injuries.
One of the rescuer while talking to "Early Times" term the situation as "Grim and shocking".
"Situation was grim-PDP leader and his family members were gasping for breath-had there been any detail-they might have been dead" said the rescuer who is the part of police party that storm inside the house of PDP leaders added that the female members of the family as well as toddlers were in state of shock fearing that they might have whisked away the family members including PDP leader.
