Curfew eased out in Kishtwar after burial of Jamat leader

Jammu, Sept 16: The curfew which was imposed in Kishtwar District following the death of Jamat e Islami leader and close associate of Hardliner Huriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani was today afternoon eased out after the burial of the deceased leader passes off peacefully.
As per the details available with "Early Times", the Kishtwar police today allowed only a small number of people from Kishtwar town to participate in the funeral prayers of 80 year old Master Ghulam Nabi Gundna who died after prolonged illness at Ludhiana hospital yesterday following which curfew was imposed in the District as precautionary measure to thwart any attempt of mass gathering that causes a potential threat to law and order.
Following the restrictions and curfew, the Nimaz e Jenazah of the senior Jamat leader was held inside the premises of Jamia Masjid Kishtwar in which around 700-800 people participated. Later the funeral procession was allowed to march towards the ancestral graveyard with around 200-300 people accompanied the mortal remains of the deceased who was buried at ancestral graveyard which passes off peacefully.
As soon as the burial of deceased Jamat leader passes off peacefully, the restrictions and curfew was eased out in the Kishtwar town and its peripheral areas as a result of which some shopkeepers also open their shops which the traffic movements has also been witnessed in the Kishtwar town hassle free.
Earlier the authorities prevented the entry of several vehicles into Kishtwar town and were stopped at Drabshala some 25 KM from Kishtwar town as several people from adjoining Doda District and other parts of Chenab valley were on its way to Kishtwar to express condolences with the family members of the deceased Jamat leader beside also wants to participate in the funeral prayers.
All the vehicles which were stopped in the morning were allowed to move towards Kishtwar once the things passed off peacefully.
