As per the details available with "Early Times" there was long pending demand of the people in Kishtwar District with regard to installation of Close Circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras in Kishtwar district for which the high mask towers were installed in various areas of Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas some 8 years ago and finally after fighting for eight long years, Kishtwar District gets 36 CCTV Cameras installed at 9 different locations including at Bus Stand Kishtwar, Hidyal Chowk, Dak Banglow Chowk, Kuleed Chowk, Shaheedi Mazar and at other places.
Senior police officer while talking to "Early Times" confirmed the installation of CCTV cameras in Kishtwar adding that it will help them to monitor the things in the District beside will help to curb the crime including the theft and anti-national elements added that the aim and object of installation of CCTV cameras is not only to check militancy related activities, but also to keep check on eve teasing, thefts and also traffic violations.
Early Times also highlighted the issue various times as the same is in the interest of the common people and last time published a detail report in its 12-4-2019 edition.
Following the killing of BJP leader Anil Parihar, his brother Ajeet Parihar, RSS leader Chanderkant Sharma, his PSO Rajinder Kumar in a span of five months in Kishtwar District, the authorities were questioned for spending Crores of rupees on luxurious life of certain high rank officials including separatist leaders while it cannot spent few Lacs or a crore on the installation of the CCTV cameras in various areas of not only in communally sensitive Kishtwar District, but in other Districts of the state (now UT) as well so that the killers involved in killing of Anil Parihar, his brother Ajeet Parihar, RSS leader Chanderkant Sharma, his PSO Rajinder could be traced and punished.
As per the details available with Early Times, the unsolved killings of Anil Parihar, his brother Ajeet Parihar on November 1, 2018 followed by killing of RSS leader Chanderkant Sharma in broad day light on April 9, 2019 that too inside District Hospital Kishtwar has open the Pandora box and fingers were point out at Police Headquarter itself as the PHQ who has assigned the job to do the installation of CCTV cameras in Kishtwar and other parts of the state eight years ago comes under the scanner of prevailing corruption at highest level.
In addition people also demanded installation of CCTV cameras at other vulnerable places like hotels, shopping malls, schools, tuition centers, police stations was also demanded and was requested to ensure that same to be installed at an earliest possible time, but again nothing was done and the assurances given by the senior police officers remains as hollow promises which needed to be enforced forcefully.
