SRINAGAR, Sept 16: Director Information & Public Relations, Dr. Syed SehrishAsgar today impressed upon the officers of the Department to make earnst efforts in further reviving the cultural and intellectual activities which have remained a forte of the Department in the past.
Chairing a review meeting of the Department, Dr.Sehrish asked the officers of the Department to re activate their field units to hone the talent of budding artists and in that create awareness in the society about various social evils.
The Director specifically asked the officers to hold mushairas, naat competitions and other activities in respect of the current holy month of Muharram and ensuing Rabi ul Awal.
The meeting also reviewed the functioning of the Department and its various wings including Culture, Publications etc.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director, Information, Jammu, Naresh Kumar; Joint Director, Information, Kashmir, Abid Hussain, Deputy Director, Audio Visual, Rakesh Dubey and other senior officers of the Department.
Earlier in the day, the Director held a series of meetings with various groups of journalists who apprised her of the difficulties they are facing in reporting in current situation.
Stressing on more intense relations between media and the Department, Dr.Sehrish assured the journalists that the Department is trying to facilitate the media fraternity in every manner possible. She informed them that the number of computers and internet speed at the Media Facilitation Centre have been increased by manifold for which they thanked her. |
