DDC Ramban launches calendar of activities, reviews preparedness

RAMBAN, Sept 17: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan today launched a calendar of activities for organising different events by the all departments across the district while convened a review meeting of district and sectoral officers to chalk out the modalities for celebrating "Swachhta Hi Seva" campaign.
ADC, Dr. Basharat Hussain, DFOs, DPO, CEO, EO, MC Ramban, DSWO, CAHO, ALC, District Officer, SPCB, ARTO, BDOs, AD Planning and various other concerned officers attended the meeting.
DDC directed the ADC to depute checking squad in all the municipalities and rural areas to ensure proper implementation of ban on polythene and plastic use. CEO and DPO were designated as nodal officers for the campaign and directed to organise activities in this regard.
He also directed the SDMs to organise activities under "Swachhta Hi Seva" campaign in their respective jurisdictions.
DDC stressed upon all departments besides every stakeholder to participate in this national campaign and inspire their family members, relatives, colleagues and others to take part in such a noble social cause. He informed that awareness regarding restriction on use of Single Use Plastic (SUP) and plastic waste management will be generated across the towns and villages of the district.
He said that the event is aimed to disseminate the message regarding the urgent need of eliminating SUP towards developing environmental friendly society.
"From today let us rededicate ourselves towards fulfilling "Swachhta Hi Seva" campaign motive of a Clean India", said the DDC, while he highlighting the ill effects of use of Single Use Plastic (SUP)as well as general plastic in our life.
