Arrest of burglars' gang helps police to close dozen cases

JAMMU, Sept 17: Gangyal Police arrested five professional burglars for their involvement in dozen of thefts cases at different locations in Jammu district and recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments worth of Rs 13 lakh on Tuesday.
Following a spate of burglaries that were reported in various part of the city under the jurisdiction of a number of Police Stations of Jammu City, a team of Police constituted to solve the burglaries case by arresting them.
A thorough analysis of evidence at the crime scene helped police to collect information leads to crack the cases, a senior police officer told, adding that acting on a tip-off from reliable sources, police arrested five professional burglars who move outside the state after carrying out the thefts resulting police was facing difficulty to trace out the thieves as there were continuously changing their locations in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and other states.
Superintendent of Police, (SP) South Vinay Sharma said that Police solved thefts cases by arresting five professional burglars and recovered stolen property viz 30 tolas gold and 500 grams silver worth of Rs 30 lakhs.
The burglars have been identified as Talab Singh Hussain son of Abdul Hamid resident of Lohar Tehsil Malhar district Kathua, Ram Kumar son of Gopi Chand resident of Khori district Reasi, Javed Ahmed son of Gulzar Ahmed a resident of Bataera district Kathua, Mohammad Sharif alias TInda son of Mohammad Gulzar resident of Koti Chadha, Bani Kathua and Farooq Ahmed son of Mohammad Din resident of Machedi Kathua was arrested.
Sharma also added that they were involved in numbers of burglaries /thefts in and around Jammu city. Multiple cases registered against them included a case FIR no 22/2018 under section 454/380 RPC was registered Police Station Bagh Bahu, case FIR no 70/19 under section 457/380 RPC of Channi Himmat, case FIR no 98/14 under section 454/380 RPC of Police Station Gangyal, Case FIR no 95/18 under section 379 RPC and a case FIR no 25/19 under section 454/380 RPC of Gangyal.
On their disclosure stolen property i.e Gold and Silver ornaments were recovered and recovered property would be handed over to belonging persons after completing legal formalities.
The arrested and recovery was made by Station House Officer (SHO) Gangyal Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia, SI Ranjit Singh under the close supervision of SDPO City South Dy. SP Ram Singh and SP South Vinay Sharma.
