Awareness programme organized

Jammu, Sept 17: A special function was organized today at Govt. High School Dogra Hall of Ward No.8 Jammu to convey the message of "Jammu against plastic pollution" to the students of the school.
Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Sat Sharma Ex-Minister J&K State beside others were present on the occasion.
Mayor as well as other digniteries threw light about the ill effects of Polythenes, plastics & other Single use items of Plastics on the human beings as well as on whole environment as single use plastics & continuous use of polythene are polluting the whole world.
He advised the school children & staff member not to use polythenes and refrain themselves from single use plastics in their routine life. Students & staff members pledge strongly that in future they will avoid from polythene and single use plastics at their schools as well as at their homes & will also spread the message of "Jammu aginst plastic pollution" to all.
Later, a plantation drive was also conducted in Shakti Nagar area of ward No.29 by the JMC.
