Div Com asks for development of Sabzi Mandi Parade

Jammu, Sept 17: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today conducted extensive tour of Jammu city to inspect progress on sewerage, drainage and AMRUT projects being executed by various departments.
The Div Com was accompanied by Joint Commissioner JMC, senior functionaries of UEED, NBCC, ERA and other concerned officers.
During the tour, he visited Gandhi Nagar area and directed the concerned officers to clean the deep drain and maintain sanitation in Rehari zones. He also directed the concerned for renovation of old passenger shed at Main Stop.
Later, he visited Bhagwati Nagar and inspected ongoing works of UEED and functioning of Sewerage Treatment Plant there.
The Div Com also visited General Bus Stand and inspected the ongoing work on under construction Nullah. The UEED officials briefed the div Com about the status of work and the future work plan. The Div Com instructed the officers for covering the Nullah and expediting the pace of work for its early completion. The Div Com directed the JMC to beautify the Bus Stand area by planting trees and involving artists for drawing paintings on the walls of Flyover.
Later, he visited Sabzi Mandi(Vegetable Market), Parade, and directed the JMC and Town Planners to formulate a plan for its development envisaging renovation of shops, creation of space for parking and Rehari zone.
Meanwhile, the Div Com also visited Peer Kho and inspected the work of Agarbati Making unit. The JMC officers briefed about Agarwati making process. It was informed that 23 women are working in the unit.
The Div Com directed the JMC to engage more women and provide Shops/ selling points to them for their products. He also inspected work on Nullah under AMRUT at Peer Kho. The UEED engineers briefed the Div Com that the work on the Nullah is nearing completion.
Earlier, the Div Com chaired a meeting to review the progress on the works being executed by UEED, JMC, NBCC, ERA and other departments.
The Div Com directed the officers to expedite the pace of work, prepare monthly work plan and share the progress report on regular basis.
