Nukkad Natak, cleanliness drives organized in Reasi

REASI, SEPTEMBER 18: As a part of Sawachta hi Seva 2019, a series of awareness activities are being held across this district.
An awareness camp was organised today here at Government Higher Secondary Panthal.
The camp focused on the motivating young generation to shun single use plastic and collection and disposal of plastic waste.
Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib, DPO Reasi Parvinder Kour, Principal and staff of School, Sarpanchs of Block and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
The event also witnessed presentation of awareness skit, recitation of poems and a symposium on the hazards of single use plastic and alternatives available for it.
The DC appreciated the students and congratulated staff for taking the initiative of making cloth bags. She asked the gathering to take pledge to make our district free from single use plastic.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib visited Trintha pond and joined cleanliness drive held as Shramdaan. Locals as well as Youth Brigade, a local organisation, also helped the administration in the drive .
A Nukkad Natak, street play, was held near District Hospital complex. A group of young arists presented the informative play in which hazards of plastic were highlighted. The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the play and applauded the skilled actors.
Addressing the gathering, the DC said that Single Use Plastic has been banned across the country and appealed the people to switchover to reusable and eco-friendly alternatives.
ACD Reasi, Sunil Sharma, BDO Reasi Sanjeev Sharma and Superintendent District Hospital were also present at the occasion.
