Div Com reviews availability, supply of construction material in Jammu

JAMMU, Sept 18: Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting of Deputy Commissioners to review the availability and supply of construction material in the districts of Jammu division.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer, PMGSY, Chief Engineer, I&FC, Director Rural Development, Joint Director, Geology and Mining department besides senior functionaries of PWD, JKPCC,GREF and other concerned. The Deputy Commissioners of Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, Reasi along with other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.
It was informed in the meeting that sufficient building material is available in the districts and work on the government projects is in progress.
It was further informed that in some districts, illegal crushers have been seized for non compliance to norms but the supply of material is sufficient in all the districts.
The Div Com asked the DCs to ensure regular supply of construction material to the executing agencies for timely completion of various developmental projects.
He further asked the executing agencies to share the requirement of materials with Deputy Commissioners and DMOs.
Later, in another meeting the Div Com reviewed the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi ( PM KSN) scheme in the division.
The meeting was attended by Director Agriculture, ADC Jammu and other concerned while Deputy Commissioners of Jammu Division attended the meeting through video conferencing.
The DCs apprised the Div Com of total number of farm operating families identified in their respective districts besides number of families/ beneficiaries verified.
The DC was also informed about the number of farmers who have received the installments of financial aid under the scheme, in their respective districts.
The Div Com asked the DCs and concerned officers to re- verify the data captured, to avoid errors and variations.
