Jammu, Sept 18: Department of Environmental Sciences University of Jammu in collaboration with State Forest Research Institute celebrated 'World ozone day' in the seminar hall of Environmental Sciences.
Prof. Raj Kumar Rampal, Head of Environmental Sciences, University of Jammu in his welcome address highlighted the historical background of the World Ozone Day. Dr. Rajeshwar Jasrotia Former CCF, Chief Guest and Resource Person, gave a detailed present scenario of various healing effects after three decades of Montreal Protocol and various other treaties to reduce the use of ODS (Ozone Depleting Substances.
During celebration Quiz, Poster and Debate competition was also held under supervision of Prof Anil Raina, Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Dr. Piyush Malaviya and Dr. Rakesh K. Attri. OP Vidhiarthi, Director SFRI presented presidential address and Shaweta Deonia, DFO SFRI made concluding remarks and vote of thanks. |
