DIPR's Cultural Wing organises symposium on "Drug De-Addiction"

JAMMU, Sept 19: Avni, a student of 11th standard, was adjudged best speaker in a symposium on "Drug De-Addiction" organized by the Cultural Wing, Department of Information & Public Relations(DIPR's), Jammu at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Nowabad Jammu here today.
Vice Principal of the host School, Koushal Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion.
The second and third positions were clinched by Roshni of class 10th and Manya of class 9th respectively.
As many as, 12 students of the host school participated in the symposium and expressed their views on the topic.
Gupta lauded the efforts of the department in organizing the event of great importance in the school. He urged the department to organize such more programmes and called upon the students to spread the message of drug de-addiction among the masses.
On the occasion, artists of Cultural Wing presented a scintillating cultural programme on the theme for generating awareness about various deadly disease caused by the menace of drugs.
Reenu Gupta, Mridhu Khullar and Komal Bedi acted as judges in the programme.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Anjana Khajuria.
Later, the participants were awarded prizes by the chief guest.
Drama Instructor, Vijay Anand, senior artists of Information Department and students were present on the occasion.
