Dogra College of Education organizes seminar on Maharaja Hari Singh

Jammu, Sept 21: Dogra College of Education organized an intra-college seminar to commemorate the achievements of Maharaja Hari Singh, the last ruler of Jammu & Kashmir and to mark 125th birth anniversary. The theme of the seminar was "Maharaja Hari Singh Ji & Dogra Dynasty". The programme started with the lighting of traditional lamp by the dignitaries followed by the welcome address by Vintee Kumari, Sr. Lecturer, Dogra College of Education. Floral tributes were also paid to Maharaja Singh. The programme was held under the NSS unit of Dogra College of Education.
The programme was presided over by Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, former minister and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust and the guest of honour was Maj Gen (Retd.) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal. The programme was anchored by Priya Khullar and Simran Devi students of B.Ed Semester III.
Maj Gen (Retd.) Goverdhan Singh in his address said that Maharaja Hari Singh signed the instrument of accession on 21st October 1947, as a result of which the state became a part of Indian Union.
Ten students of all the three colleges of Dogra Educational Trust participated in the seminar and highlighted the achievements and contribution of Maharaja Hari Singh in Jammu & Kashmir state. Certificates were also distributed among the participants.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Kr. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Member Trustee, Dogra Educational Trust, Col (Dr.) Kamal Nane Padha, Director, Dogra Educational Trust, Prof. VP Magotra, Principal, Dogra Law College, Dr. Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal, Dogra College of Education and Dr. Shefali Sharma, Academic Coordinator, Dogra College of Education. Faculty members and students were also present on the occasion.
A formal vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Jyoti Raina, Lecturer in Environmental Science, Dogra College of Education. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
