Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 21: Yuva Rajput Sabha today demanded holiday on Birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh.
The Press Conference was addressed by Surinder Singh Gilli, President of Yuva Rajput Sabha.
During the Press Conference, Gilli said that a grand rally will be organized by Yuva Rajput Sabha on Sept. 23 on the eve of 125 Birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji in which tributes will be paid to him for his contributions to the society of J&K State.
Describing Maharaja Hari Singh as the most progressive ruler of princely India, Gilli said that observing his birthday as state holiday would be a befitting tribute to the legendary ruler which was long overdue. He said that it was ironical that July 13 was being observed as a state holiday even under central rule but September 23rd was ignored thus disregarding the monumental contributions of the Maharaja who gave millions of nationalist people of the state the greatest satisfaction of calling themselves as proud Indians. He added that if Sheikh Abdullah's birthday could be observed as state holiday, it was shear profanity to deny the same on Maharaja Birthday who took the historic decision of acceding J&K to the Union of India by executing the Instrument of Accession.
He said that BJP who is also going to pay tribute day before the Janayati of Maharaja Hari Singh bearing central leadership of the BJP also participating and raised hopes that BJP will announce holiday on September 23 as a mark of respect to the last Dogra Ruler of the State.
Partap Singh Jamwal, Mandeep Singh, Mukesh Singh, Rajeev Singh, Mohan Singh, Vikram Singh, Komal Singh, Rajbeer Singh and Daminder Singh were also present in the press conference.
