Udhampur, Sept 21: District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla, conducted a series of public grievances redressal camps at far flung areas of the district to take stock of public grievances at panchayat level. The outreach programme witnessed overwhelming participation of sarpanchs, panchs and general public hailing from Panchayat Upperla Balota, Basantgarh, Mang and Khaned of Sub -Division Basantgarh. Sarpanchs and locals of the nearby panchayats put forth their demands and grievances which included sanctioned of Higher Secondary School building at Jakhed, shortage of staff in GHSS Jakhed, Blacktopping of Mantalai to Basantgarh and Ramnagar to Basantgarh road, Repair of pipelines, creation of receiving station at Dudu, ambulance facilities at Basantgarh and Dudu, opening of new bank branches, transformers, clearance of MGNREGA liabilities, pending cases of pension in Social Welfare Department, foot bridges at Basantgarh, dilapidated roads, construction of Degree College building, verification of ration cards, SRTC bus service from Ramnagar to Basantgarh, paucity of staff in Heath and Education Department, repair of internal roads, awareness camps by Agriculture and Horticulture departments, proper distribution of ration, shortage of drinking water supply and uninterrupted electricity supply. DDC asked Executive Engineer PMGSY to ensure that road up to Khenad is constructed within three months and submit weekly report to DDC office. He asked the AD FCS&CA to organize awareness camps in the area for distribution of gas connection under Ujjwala scheme. DDC asked the BDO to construct passenger shed at Shivgali near college stop. He asked to submit proposal for up gradation PHC Basantgarh to CHC. DDC further instructed the BDO to identify the spots where foot bridges are required and submit the estimate immediately. DDC took a series of decisions on the spot and sanctioned transformers, hand pumps, foot bridges, and ambulances for these far flung areas. Later, DDC conducted interaction programmes at GandTop and Kulwanta Panchayat and listened to public grievances. |
