DDC interacts with PRIs at Ramban

Ram,ban, Sept 21: : District Development Commissioner, Nazim Zai Khan, convened a meeting with representatives of Panchayat Raj Institutions to take stock of their issues impeding smooth functioning of these local democratic entities. ACD Zaffar Banday, CPO Kasturi Lal, CMO, Executive Engineers, ALC, DPO, ARTO, BDOs besides other officers, Sarpanchs and Panchs were present on the occasion. While addressing the PRIs, DDC impressed upon them to sensitize the people about ill effects of polythene and plastic use besides encouraging their participation in 'Swachhta Hi Seva' in their areas. He said that Panchayat representative especially women have pivotal role in growth and development of rural areas. DDC also highlighted various development initiatives launched by the district administration and stressed upon the PRIs to ensure that their people are brought under the ambit of these vital schemes for their socio-economic empowerment. Earlier, Sarpanchs and Panchs of the area highlighted various issues related to water and electricity supply, PMAY, SBM, BRGF liability, healthcare facilities, renovation of school buildings, shortage of staff in schools and availability of medicine in PHCs and other essentials commodities.
ACD sensitized the PRIs about implementation of all flagship programmes including MGNREGA, PMAY-G, SBM and 14-FC in their respective Panchayats effectively.
