Jammu, Sept 21: Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) Jammu in its Executive Body Meeting expressed deep concern over the nomenclature of Jammu Radio Station as Radio Kashmir Jammu. Radio Station besides other communication motives is meant to propogate the linguistic, cultural and social aspirations of Jammu Region and accordingly its name shall be Akashwani Jammu or Radio Jammu or Air Jammu and it should only be used for all announcements during its operation. It was also observed with anguish that the identity of Jammu region gets shadowed with the name 'Radio Kashmir Jammu' and it reflects that Jammu region is sub-surviant to some other region.
The participants appealed to the concerned authorities to remove this age old anomaly and restore the self respect of Jammuities in this regard.
Later, Nami Dogri Sanstha (Regd.) thereafter organised Kahani Goshthi which was presided over by Randhir Singh Raipuria, President Dogra Mandal. Those who read their stories were Sham Talib, Harish Kaila and Yash Pal Yash which highlighted different social aspects. Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, President, Nami Dogri Sanstha (Regd.) said that Radio Stations of J&K in different provinces should be on the name of province itself.
Those who were present on the occasion were Sham Lal Shastri, R. S. Jasrotia, Baldev Singh Bandral, Lakshman Singh, Moti Singh, Virender Singh, Bachan Singh, Chaman Lal , Sagoch and others. |
