9/21/2019 10:22:53 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 21: Chander Mohan Sharma, President Tawi Andolan said that with abrogation of article 370 and 35 A of the constitution of India and also with the end of separate constitution and state flag, the long pending demand of people of J&K and India has been fulfilled.
"People are happy and remember the historical role of Late Pt. Prem Nath Dogra who was first to raise the voice against Article 370 of the constitution of India and also against the state flag, constitution of J&K and nomenclature of Prime Minister being used for executive head of the state" Sharma Said.
"It was the clarion call of Late. Pt Prem Nath Dogra, masses from all over the state and other parts of the country joined the agitation under the banner of Praja Parishad. This historic agitation was led by Late Pt. Prem Nath Dogra", Sharma said this while addressing a meeting of Tawi Andolan activists here.
He said that more than 13 members of Praja Parishad were shot dead by the police on the stance of then Prime Minster of J&K, Sheikh Abdullah.
Later on, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukerjee also joined the movement and under mysterious circumstances died in an ordinary hospital in Srinagar. After sometime Pt. Prem Nath Dogra was made as National President of All India Jan Sangh. He had distinction of being a leader, equally acceptable in Jammu Province as well as Kashmir Province. He had gained popularity among Kashmiri people by resolving peacefully the issue raised by agitating Muslim Community against Maharaja in Muzafarabad. He, being Wazir-Wazarat (Div Commissioner) of that division was asked to curb the agitation but with peaceful approach he solved the problems and was appreciated at large and this act made Pt. Prem Nath Dogra, a daring leader of Kashmiri People.
There is none else in J&K who could become the leader, equally popular in both provinces of J&K.
His benevolence made him President of Brahmin Sabha and Harijan Sevak Sangh simultaneously. He remained actively involved in Sanatan Dharam Sabha and Refugee action committee and in many other social organizations. He, being a visionary leader had foreseen the future developments like Separatism, terrorism etc in the state and his observation become to be true that Article 370 is the root cause of all menace of terrorist violence and separatism.
Sharma further said that at this point of time when people of the state and the country are rejoicing the abrogation of Article 370 by Prime Minister and Home Minister of this country, it will be our moral and pious duty to give appropriate and befitting honour to all those who fought for and sacrificed for this cause by conferring the honour of Bharat Rattan to Late Pt. Prem Nath Dogra. Other prominent persons present on this occasion.
