Samba, Sept 21: Department of Information and Public Relations, Samba, under the directions of Director Information, Dr. Sayed Sehrish Asgar, organised an awareness programme on 'J&K Protection of Children from Sexual Violence Act-2018' at Panchayat Harminder, Supwal, Samba. On the occasion, a special cultural event on Laws against Sexual Violence of Children Act was organised by friends folk musical group. District Information Officer, Ajay Sharma, highlighted various aspects of the Act. He exhorted upon the parents and other family members for creating a child friendly atmosphere at home as well as in schools besides ensuring reporting of any such crime under POCSO. Later, Sarpanch expressed gratitude towards the information department and said that such initiatives on these Acts would go a long way in protecting the children from sexual offenses. District Social Welfare Officer, Deep Kumar, Sarpanch Panchayat Harminder, Tara Singh besides officials from Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) and locals were also present. |
