Guru Ravi Dass Sabha protests over demolition of temple in Delhi

Jammu, Sept. 21: In protest against demolition of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Mandir at Tugalkabad in Delhi and arrest of
96 persons arrested by Delhi Police on August 21, a demonstration was held by branches of All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Jammu here today near the Press Club of Jammu.
While speaking on the occasion, Sham Lal Basson, President All J&K Dalit Chetan Manch and General Secretary Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Bahu Fort, Jammu said that Shri Guru Ravi Dass Temple was dismantled by Delhi Development Authority on August 10.
In this connection, large scale protests were organized at different parts of the country. A large scale protest was also organized at Jammu. Tawi Bridge Jammu was closed for two hours and a memorandum addressed to President of India was presented to Divisional Commissioner Jammu through ACR.
ML Banalia, General Secretary All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Jammu stressed for release of 96 innocent people from different part of the country. Pawan from Kathua was also arrested from Metro Station Govidnpuri Delhi while he was coming for Jammu. Prof G L Thapa, President All J&K Retired SC/ST Employees Forum said demolition of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Temple at Tugalkabad and arrest of 96 innocent people is murder of democracy.
