Distt admin conducts sanitation drive, awareness camp at Sanasar

RAMBAN, Sept 22: District administration, today conducted a massive sanitation drive besides an awareness camp to sensitize the public regarding implementation of restrictions on use of Single Use Plastic (SUP) under 'Swachhta Hi Seva' campaign at tourist resort Sanasar. The programme was presided over by Additional District Development Commissi-oner, Nawab Din.
The event was held under the supervision of Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ramban, AH Fani and officials from RDD, Forest, Tourism, Health and other departments.
AD Tourism, Ambika Bali, BMO, Dr Shakeel Sumbria, BDO Batote, DO, SPCB, DFO, TSO, officers and officials of various departments attended the function.
Meanwhile, a sanitation drive was also conducted at Sanasar and large quantity of plastic garbage including polythene bags and plastic bottles from the water bodies, picnic spots and periphery spots was collected. The concerned department was directed to dispose of the same in a scientific way.
ADDC also administered pledge to over 400 students from different schools besides officers and officials of various departments participating in the sanitation drive under "Swachhata Hi Seva" campaign. During the awareness camp, ADDC stressed on the significance of cleanliness and hygiene in our lives and exhorted upon the people to adopt healthy habits for their own benefit. He asserted on strict implementation of ban on use of polythene bags and proper disposal of both bio-degradable and non-biodegradable waste.
