| 500 kgs poppy straw recovered, 3 narco smugglers arrested | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 23: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, acting on the information of SOG Jammu, Lakhanpur Police achieved a major success by recovering a massive quantity of Poppy straw and arresting the accused persons on spot.
Sleuths of Police Station Lakhanpur headed by SHO Lakhanpur recovered 500 kilograms of Poppy Straw which was being illegally smuggled in a truck bearing number JK22B-1273 under the jurisdiction of Police Station Lakhanpur of district Kathua this evening. The accused who were smuggling the contraband drugs in the truck have been identified as Showkat Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Mohd Dar, Mohd Imran Khan son of Mohd Ismail Khan Shahid Nazir son of Nazir Ahmed Bhat, all residents of Tulran Tehsil Imam Sahib District Shopian.
In this regard a Case FIR No. 64 /2019 US 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Lakhanpur. |
