Samba, Sept 23: Special Gram Sabhas were held in all 101 Panchayats of District Samba under Swachhta Hi Sewa - Swachh Bharat Jan Andolan Campaign for creating awareness about "Plastic Waste Management."
Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria participated in one Gram Sabha at Panchayat Diani, Block Samba.
Deputy Commissioner announced a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for Plastic Free Panchayat. He asked to identify the plan in the Panchayat for collection of Plastic Waste and informed that on Oct 2nd, the plastic waste will be handed over to the cement factories and R&B department for the use in the roads.
He asked the Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent citizens to use cloth bags instead of polythene bags. He asked the school children and womenfolk to actively participate in the Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign.
Assistant Commissioner Development Samba, Siddharth Dhiman, District Panchayat Officer, Piyush Dhotra and BDO Samba, Rupinder Kour participated in the Gram Sabha. |
