| 600 Kg Poopy straw recovered at Udhampur, 01 accused arrested | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Sept 23: Continuing JKP's War On Drugs offensive, Udhampur Police under the directions of SSP Udhampur, Udhampur Police recovered 600kg of poppy straw at Jakhani Chowk, NHW, Udhampur.
Giving details Rajiv Pandey, IPS SSP Udhampur said that; A police parties of PS Udhampur and PP Roundomail led by Insp. Vijay Singh Choudhary SHO PS Udhampur assisted by SI Vijay Sharma IC PP Roundomail under the supervision of Dr. Rohit Chadgal DySP Hqrs. Udhampur and Rajinder Singh Katoch Addl. SP Udhampur while conducting surprise checking of vehicles on NHW at Jakhani Chowk, Udhampur. During naka checking police party intercepted one truck bearing registration no. PB 10CW 2146 for checking. During thorough search of said vehicle, 600 kg of poppy straw was recovered from the possesion of one narcotic smuugler (driver) namely Lav Singh S/O Gurdeep Singh R/O Bareen, Gurdaspur who was arrested on spot and poppy straw seized. In this connection, ACase FIR No. 437/19 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on. |
