Symposium organized at GDC Bishnah

Jammu, Sept 23: As part of the Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign against Single Use Plastic, NSS unit of GDC Bishnah in collaboration with the Eco Club of the College organized a symposium on the topic Ways and Means of Plastic Waste Management.
In all, 6 participants spoke on the topic and threw light on various ways and means of managing plastic waste so that Mother Nature can be protected from the excessive plastic waste. The performance of the participants was adjudged by a jury comprising Dr Seema Sudan, Prof Archana Dubey and Prof Akan-kasha on the basis of Content, Presentation and Pronunciation.Anmol of Sem-I, Riya and Rakhi of Sem-III were adjudged 1ST , 2nd and 3rd respectively.NSS Programme Officer, Prof Amit Kumar Sharma divulged on the gravity of the threat posed by the ever increasing use of plastic to the environment as we are adding 10000 tonnes of plastic waste annually that remains uncollected. The prominent among present were Prof Archana Bakshi, Dr. Alka Sharma, Dr Sarita Khajuria, Dr Sandeep Kotwal, Prof Qayoom,Prof Priyanka, Prof Nasar Ahmed, Prof Deepika, Prof Shallu.Prof Mohd Qayoom presented vote of thanks.
