GDC RS Pura organizes 10 hours regular programme activities

Jammu, Sept 23: As a part of strategy for Poshan Abhiyaan for adolescent students, NSS Unit of Government Degree College R.S. Pura carried out10 hours regular programme activities for nutritional awareness issues.
An awareness rally from the college was carried out by the volunteers that passed through the R. S. Pura market and culminated in the Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School, R. S. Pura. In the rally volunteers raised various slogans like "one nutrition - one nation, swastth khao tann - mann jgao, kadam kadam badaye ja junk food ko bhgaye ja' etc. In the Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School an interactive and awareness programme was organized by the unit. The proceedings of the programme were initiated by Beetika Kohli, Lecturer in Botany of the school with welcome address. After the welcome address Prof. Bindu Kumari delivered a lecture on "A Good Food Habit", after that five NSS volunteers including Mr. Sourav Sharma, Mr. Akash Verma, Ms. Muskan Choudhary, Ms Vineet kour , Ms. Tahira spoke on various serious issues like ill effects of skipping breakfast, Healthy and unhealthy food habits, malnutrition, balanced diet etc followed by group discussions. NSS volunteers also perfomed a nukkad natak based on the effects of lack of physical activities and bad impact of fast food and packed food items.
