Govt Polytechnic college organizes World car free day

Jammu, Sept 23: Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu observed World car free day in the college in which all the faculty members and students gave up their cars, bikes for one day and came to college by public transport and by bicycles.
The day was celebrated to promote the theme Save Earth and live Green. Er. Arun Bangotra Principal, Govt. Polytechnic Jammu, initiated a Signature Campaign in the college in which faculty and students participated and pledged to keep the environment Clean and Green.
While speaking on this occasion Er Arun Bangotra, stressed upon the students and staff to take initiative to keep the environment clean and green and aware about the numerous benefits of going car-free including reduced air pollution and the promotion of walking and cycling in a safer environment.
An inter department essay writing competition was also organized on the theme of World Car free Day in which 52 students of the college participated. The 1st prize in the competition was bagged by Girish Kumar Civil Engg. Deptt, second prize was shared by Girinder Kumar of Civil Engg. Deptt and Siddarth Sharma of Architecture Department and the 3rd prize was also shared by Preetika Civil Engg. Deptt and Pranav Sharma Civil Engg. Deptt.. On the occasion , was also organized.
All the arrangements for smooth conduct of function were made by Lecturers, Er. Mohd. Shabir, Er. Mehmood Ahmed, Er. Navdeep Sharma, Er. Sajjad Hussain, Er. Neeraj Kumar.
Other present on the occasion were HODS, Er. Inderjeet Singh, Mr. Rajesh Khajuria, Er. Rajesh Gupta, Er. Sanjay Gupta, Ar. Ritika Wadhera, Er K.S Bhatia, Er Sukhdeep Singh, Rajiv Kohli, Zia ul Haq and staff and students of college.
