ABVP demands open admissions for successful students of bi-annual exam | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 27: Demanding open admissions for the successful students of bi-annual examination, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) today held a protest against Education Department in front of Divisional Commissioner's Office here. The protest was led by Parteek Raina (Jammu Mahanagar Secretary), Vishal Sharma (Distt Convenor Sunderbani ABVP), Sparsh Gupta and Piyush Raina. Raising slogans agains the Education Department, the ABVP activists assembled at Parade and marched towards Divisional Commissioner's office. Protesting ABVP activists said that the students of 12th class who appeared in bi-annual examination and managed to clear their exams are denied admissions in colleges which has raised question mark on the coordination between the School Education and Higher Education departments. It has been observed by the ABVP that the students of 6th semester who were denied admissions due to delay in re-evaluation result by Jammu University was another failure of higher education department to provide them admission in Jammu University. Similar is the case of these +2 students who have approached us. ABVP urged the authorities to open admission in colleges for all streams so as to provide these +2 bi-annual examinations pass students a chance to pursue further studies. |
