KATHUA, Oct 9: IGP Armed/IRP Jammu visited Battalion Headquarter Kathua and took stock of various activities carried out by IRP-19th battalion and functioning of manpower, assessing issues pertaining to Law & order and security.
During his visit IGP Danesh Rana was presented with ceremonial Guard of Honour. The officer held meeting with a gathering of around 150 officers/officials participated and listened to the grievances and other administrative and welfare requirements of jawans. The IGP passed on spot directions to commandant to conduct the Darbar/orderly rooms on fortnightly basis to redress the grievances of jawans and also assured that the welfare measures will be taken up at the earliest. All officers and officials were also directed to exhibit exemplary discipline, inculcate the habits of physical fitness and readiness to face any kind of challenges. The officer praised the performance of this battalion which is presently engaged in multipurpose duties and hope that they will continue to work efficiently in the same spirit in future also. Later on, the officer inaugurated various development works at Bn Hqr, Dry Canteen, jawans convenience complex, MT office and tradesman complex. A plantation drive was also carried out. Randheer Singh, SSP Commandant IRP-19th Battalion also spoke on the occasion welcome the guests and gave a brief resume of activities and nature of duties of the Battalion.
