| Sahu reviews functioning of PHE, I & FC at Kathua | | |  Early Times Report
Kathua, Oct 10: Commissioner Secretary, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, today chaired a meeting here to review the physical and financial achievements made in various ongoing schemes and projects of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control undertaken under various Centrally and State-sponsored schemes.
On the occasion, the Commissioner Secretary was briefed about the progress with regard to various ongoing schemes including languishing projects being executed in district Kathua. It was given out that a total of 47 schemes in Irrigation sector and 97 schemes in PHE sector are under execution in the district.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner Secretary emphasized upon the concerned authorities to complete the ongoing works within the stipulated time frame. He urged upon all the officers and engineers of the department to work with added zeal and zest in order to ensure timely completion of all ongoing projects. He said that no lapse of any kind shall be tolerated in such vital projects of public importance.
He also directed the concerned officers to prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) of any scheme after pre feasibility study and identify critical issues in implementation of the scheme so that appropriate corrective measures can be included in the DPR.
He further laid stress on completing those projects on priority which are near completion. Number of targeted households, geo tagging of connected households, linking Aadhar with connected households and registration of consumers must be ensured, Sahu directed the concerned officers.
Regularization of illegal connections, shortage of JEs, formalization of industrial & commercial PHE connections, water connection in Govt. residential quarters & offices besides school buildings and revenue realization were few other issues which were discussed threadbare.
DC was directed to review all the ongoing projects on regular basis and resolve all the issues pertaining to tendering and billing of the projects.
Among others, DC Kathua, O P Bhagat, CPO, Uttam Singh, Chief Engineers, Dy. Director(Planning), Narinder Kumar, Executive Engineers, AEEs and JEs of PHE and I&FC department were present in the meeting. |
