2 notorious drug peddlers nabbed with 40 gms heroin

SAMBA, Oct 13: District Police Samba has achieved a major success in its drive against the drug menace by arresting two notorious drug peddlers under the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and recovered 40 gms heroin (chitta).
Acting on reliable information, a police party of PS Bari Brahmana headed by SHO PS Bari Brahmana, Insp Rajesh Jasrotia under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana, Sunil Kesar during vehicle checking naka at Balole Bridge, Bari Brahmana intercepted a Santro car bearing Registration No JK02V 9761 coming from Kathua side. During frisking of both the persons sitting in the car, a total of 40 Gms of heroin (chitta) was recovered from their possession in which 25 gms heroin was recovered from the drug peddler identified as Ashwani Kumar, son of Mewa Ram of Bahu Fort, Jammu and 15 gms heroin was recovered from another drug peddler namely Suresh Kumar, son of Karnail Chand of Rambagh Phallian Madal, Jammu. Both the drug peddlers have been arrested by police on the spot. The car and the contraband item recovered from the accused persons were also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No 165/2019 U/S 8/21/22/25/27(a)/29 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
