Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 13: The Union government of BJP is patting its back over the development issues by providing 70 KV Solar Power Plant at District Hospital Kathua, the project of worth crore is still in limbo.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy had sanctioned Rs 50 Crores for installation of solar power plants at four District Hospitals viz Samba, Poonch, Rajouri and Kathua and its sub-district hospitals under the centre sponsored scheme Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) when Dr Farooq Abdullah was central minister of ministry concerned.
Sources further said that under the same scheme, the union ministry allocated Rs 1.21 Crore for the installation of 70 KV Solar Power Plant at District Hospital Kathua which was inaugurated by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and then local MLA Rajiv Jasrotia on dated 07/10/ 2016 but ironically, the project is still incomplete and has been facing official apathy.
"However, the project was allocated to provide uninterrupted power supply to hospital concerned and announced the project would be executed through Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) but unfortunately the project is still hanging in balance", said sources while wishing anonymity.
Sources further said that the same project got controversy when non-functional solar power plant was inaugurated by then MLA with grand function in the premises of the hospital accompanied with JAKEDA as well as other district level officials but the same project still not commissioned so far after lapse of three year from the date of inauguration.
Moreover, the other solar power plants announced for other district hospitals to provide uninterrupted power supply, either not completed or lying idle.
