Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 14: Nine candidates of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) have won unopposed elections of Block Development Council (BDC) seats in Kashmir, 1 in Leh and 2 in Jammu.
Discussing the results of total of 12 BDCs, where the party candidates have been elected unopposed, BJP State spokespersons, S.S. Bijral and Balbir Ram Rattan, were of the view that the elected representatives as Sarpanches and Panches in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, have not paid any heed to the boycott of the opportunist political parties and filed their nominations in large numbers, which also display their commitment to strengthen the democracy at the grass roots level.
The Spokespersons further discussed that out of 27 unopposed winners in Valley, BJP has registered victory in nine seats, which include 4 from Shopian, 1 each from Pulwama, Budgam, Bandipora, Anantnag and Ganderbal.
